MV GLORY TRADER

Instructed by Gard P&I as Company Representative for the MV GLORY TRADER. The bulk carrier suffered an explosion in hold #3 while en route from China to Panama. The explosion blew the #3 hatch covers into the sea. After arriving upriver from New Orleans, the mixed cargo in hold #3 was found to be producing hydrogen gas. Worked with the salvage contractors DonJon-Smit, the USCG Unified Command and local regulatory agencies to discharge, transport and dispose of the dangerous bulk cargoes. (June/July 2015)
