Instructed by Resolve Marine Group to assist with protecting Horsburgh Lighthouse at the entrance to the Singapore Straits. The barge POE GIANT 12 grounded on the west side of Pedro Branca with two large gantry cranes for unloading bulk products. The barge was initially listing 15° and the cranes were threatening the strategic landmark. The barge was ballasted to bring the cranes upright and explosives were used to topple the cranes to seaward away from the lighthouse. Mr. Reed managed the engineering (Overdick) and the explosives experts (Demex) for Resolve and assisted with gaining the confidence of the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and their permission to proceed.
