Instructed on behalf of owners as Salvage Consultant for the dewatering of the MV HAIAN CITY, a 21,000 dwt container vessel which was involved in a collision on departure from Chattogram, Bangladesh. Reed Maritime worked alongside the vessel’s crew and local contractors to ballast the vessel, move the vessel dockside, install a 10-metre x 11-metre patch on the port side shell, discharge intact and contaminated containers, execute internal repairs and dewater six flooded compartments including two cargo holds and two fuel tanks.
